Dr. Dmitry Ivanov presently substitutes the position of the professor of operations managment at University of Hamburg. Previously he worked as research associate at the chair of production economics and industrial science at Chemnitz University of Technology in Germany. He worked as a project engineer in an ERP systems consulting house. Presently, he is engaged in various industrial projects in supply chain management (SCM) including petrochemistry, automotive, and retail networks. In 2005 he won a German Chancellor Scholarship. He received his doctor degrees from Chemnitz University of Technology in 2006 (Dr.rer.pol.) and St. Petersburg State University of Economics in 2008 (Dr. of Science). He has been visiting researcher at London Imperial College, University of Dortmund, University of Bremen, St. Petersburg State University, and Russian Academy of Science. He is the (co)-author of more than 150 scientific works including most recently the monograph Adaptive Supply Chain Management (Springer, London). His research interests lie in the area of adaptive supply chains, applied optimal control theory, operations research, and business information systems. His works have been published in various academic journals including most recently International Journal of Production Research, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Scheduling, etc.

He leads German-Russian Logistics and SCM Scientific Society DR-LOG (http://www.dr-log.org).
